One similarity shared by both outsourcing and offshoring companies is the employment of highly skilled and qualified staff to fill roles within a separate business or for another client, and it is a service that can be performed anywhere in the world. These two models have their own advantages and disadvantages: Outsourcing means that work can be done locally by another company or overseas.  As for offshoring, work is done by a worker employed in another country.

In relation to staffing, the offshoring model will give you an opportunity to select your own suitably qualified staff based on your job description. This workforce will be dedicated solely to your operations and will work to and follow your processes and procedures. You will also have direct control over the people you select in terms of their performance and salaries. 

Outsourcing operations are broadly similar but resource is only leased to you. Staff are placed by your provider based on the qualifications and skills to perform the outsource work. The provider owns the processes and procedures and they deliver an output – they take the work as that is where they have expertise.
